I don't understand this site... It assumed my STOCK wheels hits the strut assembly.
and then it assumes 17x10+23 will go PAST the strut assembly....
wot?

Yea not the best when it comes to inner clearance but great for calculating stretch.

^ u have to remember every car is going to have a different amount of inner clearance.

^ Yup which is why I say disregard the inner clearance calculations. The rest is golden.

I prefer this one personally:

Anyway, all these calculators confuse the shit out of me. My summer setup 235/40/17 17x7.5 et41 (front) clears the coilover, yet the 205/60/15 15x7 et47, which according to all these calculators should have 9mm more clearance can't even spin, that's how much it rubs. It bottles the mind.
Here is the one I used http://www.jennyxxx.de/reifenrechner_blau.swf to get everything right on my car. I know it is in German but it is good also how much bigger or smaller the wheels are going to be.

^^ my favorite
This prog has only one major defect. It doesn't change the height of the wheel when tire gets stretched. FE: here they show that 215/45-17 tire on 7" wheel and same tire on 10" wheel are same height, but they definitely are not.
It is a pity, cause I guess it is just an annoying mistake in calculation The sidewall must be the constant. Then the prog could show us the real thing.

Hi! I want to by an e46 m3 rim for my e36 320i. I dont know if the rim will work perfekt without the modification on the fender etc..., on the car. There isnt any e46 m3 rims near here, so i cant try it on. The rims are 8JX18 ET/IS:47 9JX18 ET/IS:26 .

Nice simple interface, although it makes the common confusion of tire width and tire thread width. The standard tire width (205, 215, etc) is measured for the whole tire, the thread is always narrower. Apart from some minor graphical oversight (tire width and backspace representation), the calculations seem correct.
I prefer this one personally:

I like this one better also as it's a bit more advanced.
These are by no means 100% accurate though. Tire profiles differ depending on manufacturer and tire model so after getting the ballpark figure with one of these programs, it's still trial and error till you find the perfect fit.

Ya, that sucks. I haven't found one that even comes close to how well that one explained it to me haha. Im a very visual person and seeing the two colored lines made all the sense in the world to me.
