hey guys, i have a 97 b5 quottro and when the car is in an odd gear (1,3 and 5) as you go off the the gas the shifted kicks back a tiny bit. it doesnt do this in the even gears, so im assuming its a sign of wear in the box.

what i want to know is how serious an omen this is, should i get the gearbox looked at as soon as possible or is it just the first signs of wear?

cheers for all help.

I'd be looking at engine/trans mounts, not the internals of the transmission.

My 98 does the same thing and the engine mounts are fine. Has anyone figured out what the problem is?
