I figured I have been lurking enough and that it was time to post up my build on here in hopes that the rest of you can enjoy the car as much as I do.
1993 VW Corrado SLC w/ Coilpack VR6

First a little history:
I got the car in May of 2008 after moving back to MN from AZ. I found the car in ID and flew out and bought the car and drove it back to MN. Over the summer i worked on it a bit and ended up with this:
-Patec Holeshot Coilovers
-H&R 25mm 5x100 -> 5x130 adaptors
-Porsche 928 seven slots 16x7 front and 16x8 rear
-205 Tires
-Badgeless Grill
-E-code Headlights
-Euro Front Lip

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e325/majend/corrado%20photoshoots/Before%20going%20under/IMG_0929.jpg
Fall 2008 the serp belt tensioner broke and it developed a low oil pressure at idol issue so i decided to park the car and start the big build here are the plans.
-Fully shaved bay w/ PS and A/C delete
-Rebuilt motor and trans w/ LSD
-Suede Interior
-Cage
-Seats
-Harnesses reupholstered w/ tan burberry
-Rear Seat delete w/teak wood floor
-Double DIN headunit in dash (stock dash only has single DIN opening, removing A/C controls)
-Lower Stance w/ new coilovers (sold patecs) eventual airride next winter
-Full Respray w/ stock color w/ a very small amount of black pearl added in
bunch of small other things that will be added as time goes on
I moved the car to a shop me and my friends got and started really working a few months ago after the car sat for a while. Here are a few pics of how the car looks now.

nope, trying to keep the outside as OEM as possible that lip is what came on the Euro SLCs.
Started powdercoating in the shop last night, got all of my pulleys done, i'll post pics as soon as my buddy sends them to me

UPDATE TIME!!!!!
been spending a lot of time in the engine bay cutting, grinding, welding and then grinding again has been a lot of fun since this is a big learning experience for me. I have never taken a build quite this far before but things have been going well and i know it is going to turn out great.
The rain tray is now totally out, i don't know how many of you have tried to shave your engine bay but this thing is quite a pain to get out probably have over 30 hours into this one thing...
there are spot welds all over the place and getting to them normally ends up meaning using a dremel with a grindng stone and grinding them out as opposed to drilling.
here are a few pics of what the area looks like now:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e325/majend/corrado%20photoshoots/engine%20bay/IMG_1311.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e325/majend/corrado%20photoshoots/engine%20bay/IMG_1320.jpg
have also done a lot of welding, filling holes and such. I am going for a shaved look but i am keeping all of the panel seams since i love the way they look.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2728/4164561043_ce8cdb9e9a_b.jpg
one of the big things i am doing is putting a flat plate in where the battery tray was. i kind of F'ed the area up and there was a bit of rust (the only spot on the car) so i just decided to make both sides look even.
old pic
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e325/majend/corrado%20photoshoots/engine%20bay/IMG_1181.jpg

motor is headed to the machine shop next week and hopefully it will be done before i go out of town (only getting it honed, block and head decked, and cleaned) but it doesn't really matter as i most likely won't get it assembled till after i get back which might make me put sending it out till after i get back

I got my rails done(just flat railed) and only had the heater core holes to shave and paint the whole thing...If i would have known then what i know now id be done but it was parted about this step of its build. After 30 corrados it was time for a change.

Agreed! I really like most porsche wheels. They look right at home on corrados.
Also, great job with the bay and all. I plan on doing all this kind of work eventually when our shop is done being built. What cams did you get for the engine? I've been looking around for cams, but I'm not exactly sure what I want to get just yet.
Majend
05-10-2010, 04:30 PM
block has been cleaned honed and deck and the head has been welded up where there was a little corrosion around the coolant ports and then decked, i got a mk4 metal headgasket as well which is going to bump compression up even more. it isn't a huge bump at all and it will probably only help with throttle response but the goal of the car is not extreme power. got a new oil pump and all new gaskets, rings, and bearings. the head is getting autotech 262 cams. i drove the car for a few months before i started the build and i just loved how the motor felt and i didn't want to change all that much. the only other "power" thing i am doing is the header which i posted earlier. very few people say one gains anything from it, but buying it was more of a visual choice since i deleted the rain tray and i couldn't have the stock cast iron manifolds back there.
thanks for the kind words now i just need to get over this cold and i'll get back to work

i also found diagrams with part numbers AND bolt sizes so i will be able to order everything up this week to start bolting things together! to that end i filled the bmw with all the parts that have been sitting at my place
yay progress!

finished up my upper intake manifold last night. basically i wanted to be able to see the fuel rail since it is going to be powdercoated tan and i am using a different fan setup so you will actually be able to see in there. so i broke the dremel out and got to work on the webbing between the runners.
i forgot to get a before pic, there might be one earlier in the thread but here is a pic on one section done and one just getting started

thanks everyone.
i took a long hard look at what this car was going to take and i knew that i wasn't going to be able to do it in a timely manor so i decided to let it go someone that had a higher probability of finishing it.
the opel is going to a fun little build this winter since i basically have all the parts that i'm going to need.
i hope you guys end up liking the opel as much as you liked the corrado
