Early E36 Coilover question

Hello,

I have a US E36 Coupe. Built in January 1992.

Just received a AP Coilover system (Similar to KW V1 and ST i am told) for cars manufactured before 6/92.
When I bought the kit I read somewhere that I would need the later top mounts to install the kit.

I am now wondering if this is accurate as the (rather bad) instructions do not mention this? Can I use the top mounts that I have or do I need to source the newer model?

Also, the kit included longer sway bar links as on cars before 10/91. Do I just ignore these and use the ones that are connected to the control arm?

I obviously pulled a rooky mistake and put this in the wrong section

If anyone can move it to the coilover section, it would be greatly appriciated.
Have googled this to death and found no answers. I guess it is just a question of ripping the old suspension out and see if the tophats fit...
