Am I stupid or is everyone else?
Ive seen more people spelling the word Brake (like the part that stops the car...) like Break...
I feel like thats SUPER wrong...unless its some european spelling or somthing in which case I must ask: Is the speller european? Did you ever live in Europe? Are we IN EUROPE? NO...

Because brakes that break or broke aren't nearly as awesome as brakes that brake or braked...then broke while braking or braked before breaking. BTW my E36 isn't idleing right, it needs a wireing harness.

No, I just used it as an example because it's owners commonly misspell everything on Bimmerforums. My mom just got an Avus vert though.

*-I live in Europe.
*-English is my country's second language.
*-I am currently studying English Language in College.
*-'Break': crack, division, fracture, rupture, split, tear
*-'Brake': anchor [; for ships], control, restraint, stop [; for automobiles]
i.e. you're right; it is SUPER wrong.

I corrected a friend the other day when he texted me asking to help him do the breaks on his Civic. I was like "No, but I'll help you do the brakes." He was like, "You know what? I don't want your help now" :eyebrows
Sigh, people are dumb.

I think in the case of brakes and breaks it come from the two words sounding about the same.
Some people who seem to be on a generally lower level of existence, intelligence wise, don't seem to grasp the fact, that you don't always write a word how it sounds. :shifty

Just came across this on my friends facebook.
"R u guys going to trick or treat bye r house again "
My friend has a kid, which is what this question is about, I'm just hoping the chick who posted this attempt at a reply has not, and does not, reproduce.
