  • Back From The Depths

It’s returned. George’s 318i turbo is ready to conquer the world…once we’ve finished the work we have lined up for it.

The history of this build is almost as long as Fluid MotorUnion itself, and for that reason, we’ll dedicate a whole long post to it later on. For now, suffice to say this car is like an employee of FMU. Now that we’ve finally figured out the issues surrounding the starting, it’s time to get cracking on a whole host of work, deep in the engine bay. To start, we’re flipping the turbo manifold, as it was a bottom-mount turbo originally, but given how gravity messes with fluids, the oil has nowhere to go. Therefore, a top-mount turbo it is!

Look forward to more 318i turbo posts as the weeks progress. Summer is shaping up to be epic.
