View Full Version : Need any help with getting parts from Germany?

Dr.AK
06-09-2009, 04:37 PM
Many of us on here drive Euro cars and so some of you guys from the states may some day happen upon the situation of needing parts from Germany. Should this happen, I can provide help if the seller is not willing to ship to the states.

For example you see a set of nice and rare wheels on german ebay or somewhere else for sale in Germany - but the seller is not willing to ship to the US. That's where I come in.

Services I'm willing to provide:

Shipping your parts over to you in the states or anywhere else in the world
Acting as a translator for dealings with german sellers
Helping to source euro spec parts for your cars
Sourcing tires that might not be avaible over in the states

How things will go when you decide that I should help you with shipping something:

You spot the item for sale and contact the seller about shipping to your location
Should you receive a negative answer, I will readily act as a go between
If the part is an auction on ebay, you will bid for it with your own account and work out payment with the seller. If it is a "Buy it now!", I can buy the part for you, if you send me the money beforehand.
You will either pay the seller directly or send the money to me via paypal and I will send it onto the seller, this step may take a few days due to banks not being the fastest
The seller sends the item to me after I have given you my address
I receive the item and calculate shipping costs using weight and size and will inform you of these
You will send the money for shipping over to me via paypal
As soon as I receive the necessary money and get it transferred over to my bank account, I will drop your package off at the postal station and provide you with a tracking number

How to contact me:

Email: DrAK@doktorak.net
ICQ: 275112975
AIM: diseeease
Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001682775627)
Or via Private Message on the StanceWorks forums

Additional notes:

Shipping for bigger parts to the US will most likely be quite expensive. A set of wheels for example usually costs about 360 US$ shipping.
I may be able to source some euro spec parts for your cars, as long as it is not something too rare or out of the norm as even over here euro parts for old cars (E28s for example) don't grow on trees - regardless what you ask for, I will try to look for it and should I not have results after two weeks, I will call the search off.

Should you decide to accept my help, a small donation would be appreciated.

This service is provided exclusively for members of StanceWorks.

Only taking Requests that are sent to me directly. Best use one of the IMs or Facebook to get into contact with me as I tend to be a bit forgetful. :o
Please only contact me if you're serious about this.

Glad to see this is appreciated.

Yeah, some europeans lust after us spec stuff like crazy. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.
For me it doesn't matter where it comes from, only that it looks as good as possible.

Thats the thing. When Euro or JDM stuff is all you see, especially when you see it on stock cars, you want something thats going to look different from all the stock cars drivin around.

How much do euro bumpers cost IN europe? For an e30 that is.

Dr.AK
06-16-2009, 06:56 AM
I can't say from the top of my head, but I'll look it up later.

You want the prices for the early or facelifted bumpers? I think the early ones are more expensive, but then again I don't really have a clue about E30s.

If you come across a euro mtech steering wheel for an e36, let me know! :)

Dr.AK
06-16-2009, 03:11 PM
E30 Bumpers, New straight from the BMW dealer (prices might not be up to date, but they should be avaible):

Early

Front: about 390€ / 540$

Rear: about 520€ / 720$

Late:

Front: about 240€ / 330$ + 290€ / 400$ if you also need the bumper support and the crash dampers

Rear: about 260€ / 360$

Used they apparently go from about 70€ / 100$ to 100€ / 140$ and more, depending on condition and if they are early or late and painted or not.

You mean like this?

http://doktorak.net/E36/photoshooting/pic09.jpg

There's a seller on german ebay that sells these with new leather for around 160€ / 223 $.

I expect used ones can be found for a bit less, likely around 100 bucks or something.

Located about 50kms south-west of Cologne, town called Bedburg.

Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=de&geocode=&q=Bedburg+&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=51.089971,79.013672&ie=UTF8&z=12&iwloc=A)

And yeah, I'm willing to pick stuff up if you pay for gas (keep in mind gas is a bit more expensive over here... All in all, it's about 15€ / 100km for me).

I can get them here in Norway. There's a local wheelshop that sell them.
However they are cheaper in Germany, and shipping is less expensive from Germany.

I can get the Brocks in 10x17 for around $505 a piece, but this does not include shipping from east Norway to west where I live. The guy who sold them locally is now out of business I'm afraid. As far as shipping to the US goes, I'll have to weigh them and so on before DHL will give me a fairly accurate qoute.

I can get you a Continental SportContact in 195/40/14, 75€ / 112$ per tire + shipping. Same tire in 185/50/14 goes for about 95€ / 141$ per tire + shipping.

Or if you wanna go even narrower, Pirelli P6000 in 175/50/14 for about 77€ / 115$ per tire + shipping.

Dr.AK
11-21-2009, 11:10 AM
I estimate shipping to be around 260$. Can't say for sure, might be cheaper, I'd need the exact weight and sizes of the tires for that. I just guessed for weight and size now. Might be able to ship it for 195$ with some tricky packaging, or less if the tires weigh less than estimated. (i.e. should they weigh less than 5 kgs, I should be able to ship for 130$).

I want to convert my car to a German spec 2.3-16, how much are 190e one piece euro headlights? (I might find some locally, but just wondering)

and panel under the steering column? (the official US spec 2.3-16s have this knee bumper below the steering column, I just got irritated and ripped it out)

I've seen that euro spec cars don't have that lump that wedges against your shins and restricts your leg motion.

So, now he needs some vacations, I could help you out with some parts.

But pleeeaaaaase no rims, as I expect them to be a little hard to get.

My contacts:

ICQ: 303836039
PM

If you need some Euro parts from junkyards or from the dealer, let me know it and I'll proove that I got them or have an offer from the dealer.

Payment....mhh...Paypal?

Wie hast du das gemacht Dr.AK? (Eng:How did you do that?)

I live in Clausthal-Zellerfeld and Göttingen. (2 residents) It's almost in the perfect middle of Germany.
Browse some German ebay and let me know how I may help you ;-)

in my own business: As you figured out, we are crazy about US stuff. I'm driving a MK4 GTI in BMP and would trade my euro front bumper for a US-Spec. I could also arrange some other trades in other forums ;-)

It's funny somehow: We are crazy about the US parts and the US guys are crazy about the Euro stuff. I like. Lot's of potential.

Taking requests again.

However, I will only take requests if you contact me directly. Either using some kind of IM, Facebook or PM here on SW. I'd rather you keep bugging me using FB or some kind of IM, as I tend to be a bit forgetful. :o

Also, I'd rather you only contact me with serious requests only as this stuff will be neither cheap (mostly due to shipping, sometimes due to parts rarity), nor easy to find (in some cases).

Is ANYONE able to help me get a Euro spec. VW Jetta (MKIV) Trunk?? I will pay full shipping costs and compensate you well. There are tons of cheap ones on ebay, I just need a middle man because no one will ship here.

Everyone in in Europe craves American parts. I own a '90 mk2 golf and the parts in demand are only American bumpers and grills. They go for 10x the price of normal euro 'trash'

Thanks, I think German parts are available in many parts of the countries. It is is not the big worry in these days.

e39 trunk, might be called Heckklappe? Heckkdeckel? prefer single stage black (not cosmos or diamond schwarz), any color will do though, as long as in decent condition

I want to buy one but ebay the people don't reply to my terribly translated german :(

I know the shipping might kill the deal but can you source a Hamann front lip and rear window spoiler for an E38 cheaper than bavauto.com?

I was just about to post a new thread and saw this topic.

Looking at ebay.de auctions for wheels, some sellers won't ship straight out to the UK. Would anyone be interested in posting them out for me instead?

Ones I am looking at this second are in Ahrbrück, but will ship across Germany for €70 extra.

there's a german ebay auction that I'm interested in. If someone could pm to help that'd be great. I pm'd Dr. Ak but figured he might be swamped with other people's pm's. So if anyone else could help. Thanks guys.
