Will I get the drop I'm looking for?

I am about to buy some coilovers, I haven't decides on a brand yet, but it seems like they all give a drop of about 3"....

I just measured my front bumper and I am 9" off the ground. I want to be lower than 6" I want to be like 2-3".

Am I missing something? Does the 3" translate to the whole car??? So when I lower it all the way down the 3" translates to more drop for my front?
