Jorge

Yes, in Jan down at T2D I think!
It pains me to see it :(
It's down to insurance now, they are saying that due to age it'll get repaired regardless of cost so we will have to see. That is what I'd very much prefer, serious neck pain now though and it kills me to think it is now just sat in some yard getting rain let in

On the plus side, I found out two of my Ozs are 6.5inch barrels, which means when rebuilt I can either go with 4.5 inch lips and have a more manageable offset, or go for 10s up front from the current 9.5s haha
Minuki there will be next year, don't fret :)

I need to crack on with Uni work but gotta sort out Sorning the car etc first.
Hire car comes in morning. Unfortunately they couldn't match the 3.5 litre engine size, so gotta have something around the 3.0-3.2, in the form of either a BMW Z4, an Audi TT Roadster or a Porsche Boxster.

So I get in the car to go an pick my bro up from School and finish the rest of the crimbo shopping. The car is on Empty, so I go to the petrol station and fill up. Pay for the fuel. Get to the junction and the car dies. Dead. Absolutely nothing from the battery, won't even turnover. So my brother and I push it into the carpark. I call up my friend and he picks me up and takes me home to get jump leads and a spare battery. Get back to the car park and I try and start the car to see if it would start....and it does. RAGE. Fucking cars.

Everyone planning to dash through the snow in a one horse open sleigh, going over the fields and laughing all the way are advised that a Risk Assessment will be required addressing the safety of an open sleigh for members of the public. This assessment must also consider whether it is appropriate to use only one horse for such a venture, particularly.....where there are multiple passengers. Please note that permission must also be obtained in writing from landowners before their fields may be entered. To avoid offending those not participating in celebrations, we would request that laughter is moderate only and not loud enough to be considered a noise nuisance.
Benches, stools and orthopaedic chairs are now available for collection by any shepherds planning or required to watch their flocks at night. While provision has also been made for remote monitoring of flocks by CCTV cameras from a centrally heated shepherd observation hut, all users of this facility are reminded that an emergency response plan must be submitted to account for known risks to the flocks. The angel of the lord is additionally reminded that, prior to shining his/her glory all around, s/he must confirm that all shepherds are wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to account for the harmful effects of UVA, UVB and the overwhelming effects of Glory.
Following last year's well publicised case, everyone is advised that Equal Opportunities legislation prohibits any comment with regard to the ruddiness of any part of Mr. R. Reindeer. Further to this, exclusion of Mr R Reindeer from reindeer games will be considered discriminatory and disciplinary action will be taken against those found guilty of this offence.
While it is acknowledged that gift bearing is a common practice in various parts of the world, particularly the Orient, everyone is reminded that the bearing of gifts is subject to Hospitality Guidelines and the Bribery Act and therefore all gifts must be registered. This applies regardless of the individual, even royal personages. It is particularly noted that direct gifts of currency or gold are specifically precluded, while caution is advised regarding other common gifts such as aromatic resins that may evoke allergic reactions.
Finally, in the recent case of the infant found tucked up in a manger without any crib for a bed, Social Services have been advised and will be arriving shortly.

some geez is offering to swap his '01 Audi A8 quattro sport for my cab. Gearboxes are notorious on them though...
Jorge
01-05-2012, 05:18 AM
S8 would be only one I'd look at... just did a quote on a A4 1.9tdi, 1200!!
306 1.9 Dturbo, £520.
stinkinrich
01-05-2012, 05:49 AM
A4 is double the value of a 306 in whatever form so seems about normal id have thought.

Not when I'm looking at cars under £500!

Anonymoose
01-05-2012, 07:18 AM
I've got a lot more coming Rich, better start buying :)
What's your guys opinion on this?
I sold my OEM steering wheel and emailed the guy that I would like payment via bank transfer as all up I'm paying around 50GBP in fees by the time the money's in my account.
He says he only pays via paypal and threatens bad feedback if I don't let him.
I said I'm the seller and that's how I want to be paid. Simple. He can still open a case through ebay and if he wanted, his bank and I assured him he would recieve his item no questions. He's organising postage etc so is in control blah blah.
I'm the seller so I can specify how I want to be paid right? Or not?
Jorge
01-05-2012, 07:27 AM
Depends on what you had listed on the auction
stinkinrich
01-05-2012, 07:32 AM
What Jorge said, I thought payment by paypal was a mandatory method on ebay now? I remember listing some bits and couldnt continue unless I entered my paypal address.
Anonymoose
01-05-2012, 07:33 AM
This is it vv
I ticked the payment option 'other, see description' but ebay won't let you remove the paypal option anymore. Said cash on collection preferred and emailed him right after the end of the auction and said bank transfer... Not entirely clear that bank transfer is wanted but I can't remove the paypal thing anyway??

cant he send a cheque? You posting it?
Jorge
01-05-2012, 07:43 AM
It is hard, cos a lot of people don't trust bank transfers. Just keep trying to be polite?
Anonymoose
01-05-2012, 07:47 AM
Yeah I'm trying, saying I'm a private seller and loosing 1/3 of the money to fee's isn't really fair, I'm honest blah blah
Then I read the policies and it is pretty much mandatory to offer paypal. Well they say they recommend it but then don't give an option to not use paypal and say that you must offer everything in the payment detail section. LOL FUCK FEEs
Jorge
01-05-2012, 07:52 AM
Tight bastard, but I **** fees on there now since selling my car. Sticking to PH/forums.
Anonymoose
01-05-2012, 08:09 AM

eBay reminds me of the fucking government with tax. They charge you for listing and then charge you again once its sold. Then charge you again for moving money from A to B.

Anonymoose
01-05-2012, 10:52 AM
I think monkey aids is the answer
Jorge
01-05-2012, 10:52 AM
I've owned them before, VAGs are silly expensive to insure, 306s aren't, they do 50mpg, cost £600 to insure and if I can get a post 2001 HDI, cost £130 a year to tax. No rust as galvanised.
Anonymoose
01-05-2012, 10:55 AM
Cost of buying a new car + insurance + tax + mot + maintanence + buy e24
or
Buy e24 and drive that motherfucker
:confused
stinkinrich
01-05-2012, 11:04 AM
You have a point but if Jorge is looking for a minty mint e24 then its wise not to run it through the winter otherwise you could be unfortunate and have someone drive into the back of you.
Jorge
01-05-2012, 11:11 AM
Yeah, plus worked out that I can save about £500+ a year in fuel alone, which covers price of car nearly. Then get an E24, SORN it and build it up ready for the summer shows, then swap policies or something.
