DOT Regulations on Imported Cars

I have questions regarding regulations from the DOT that one must follow if you have a car imported from Europe. I have a connection where I can get an M3 for cheap out in Europe but my problem is getting it shipped here.

Does anyone know of procedures I need to follow or how I can go about getting a car from Europe to the states. What fees do I need to pay, etc...

If there is a website that say anything please post it.

I've heard nothing but good things about them ... all in all, it's gonna end up costing you like 10 grand to get a car over here and legal; might as well just buy the engine which is pretty much the main difference and make it yourself.
