You painted your car yourself using rattle cans? You're in the right spot. Share the love.:eyebrows:rofl
Anyways, I searched and haven't found anything like this.
YES, Rattle Can Paintjobs can easily look like shit - but if some effort is made they can look very good too!
All things rattle can paintjob related can go in here. Wether it's pictures or discussions about how to do it etc.
I'll start with a few pictures I have found on the web:

And a few questions:
Since I am forced to abandon my plans for my Touring (which included a complete rebuild with also having it professionally sprayed) due to personal & financial reaons, I am contemplating doing a DIY paintjob myself using rattle cans since it will need new paint once I get around to fixing the bodydamage.
I don't want it to stay that way forever though, so I'd like to go with a paint that is easy to remove or work with for a bodyshop once it's time for a real professional respray. Or more like what kind of paint to avoid if the car will get professionally resprayed later.
I'm looking for some kind of matte colors.
you can use primer.
I did my mk1 with red primer ,thinking about spraying it yellow this summer

alot of those look done with a spray gun, just with satin/matte paint.

Some of the finish on those is flawless, they can't be rattle cans surely.
The camo looks good, usually matt paint goes patchy, but with a camo effect it kinda hides that.

To be honest you may be better off buying a spray gun and a tin of paint because it takes a lot of rattle cans to do a whole car nicely and would probably cost more. I agree though, you can definitely get a very good finish with them

I used rustoleum thinned out on my beetle with a gun just like you would if you were rolling it, i rolled it brown first and didnt like how it turned out
for not using clear and having no real idea what i was doing it turned out good i would say, still holding up well, dont have the car anymore however

well i can tell you right now that alot of those vw's arent rattle cans.
they are hod rod flatz sprayed through a gun.

Neither is the alfa, bennorz wtf you yappin bout? The pin stripes?
Although that job with a roller is probably more impressive

definiately TRUTH Jaze.
with spray cans you will not get the smooth semi-shine as you do with hot rod flatz sprayed through an actual gun. cans easily produce patches of dry overspray & have increased margin of error as the spray area increases.
the majority of guys rattle canning their cars do not properly prep their body which will dramatically effect the paints overall flow & consistancy.
simply put, the more patience you have in prepping & the better control you can conjure up while spraying are all certain to be seen in your final outcome.
regardless, almost all the photos posted here look very nice.

I've done a lot of DIY spray jobs and would never rattle can a whole car. By time you bought enough spray cans to do the whole car you could buy a spray gun and a few quarts of paint to do it.
I will say that I did rattle can the jambs of my wife's wagon and they came out good. But those alone took about 6-7 cans.

Cory's car (Nelson) was rattle canned. By far the best rattle can job I have ever seen.

hm, i guess i can't translate the tounge you are speaking in. but taken literally, i don't see a single alfa in this whole thread?!
aaaand i was "yappin" about the good possible outcome at the cost of a LOT of manual labor and time. who cares if the corvair was done with a roller. same rules apply to rattle can and any other method of applying paint (the crappier the method, the more time it'll take to look good)
