  • My boring golf with boring wheels :)

    hey guys

thought id put a build thread up because i have a few plans over winter.

    -smooth front plate recess
    -oem japanese rear bumper
    -possibly an anniversary kit

i also plan on working on the stance and getting the wheels more flush. poke a little too much now imo. so may narrow them by half inch all round to give 8.5 n 9x17.

heres some recent pics i took before i got a ticket for no front plate lol

    few more here http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike_6kv/

im really feeling bmw's at the moment so hopefully the golf will keep me going till next year and im aiming for a e46 330d.

        Looks great.

The only thing that is an eyesore is how the rear geometry of mk4s changes when lowered and makes the wheel go all to the front of the wheel well.

                  cheers for the coments guys.

i dunno wether to go for the great plates. it doesnt really bother me that much.

but the plus side of bringing the wheel back is about 5mm more arch clearance but it doesnt rub on the rear anyway

Car looks anything but boring mate. Don't put narrower wheels on it though. I would put narrower tyres on those wheels, where did you find the futuras mate?

If the great plates give you 5mm more clearance, I would go for them and then go lower with more camber and you should be able to tuck the tire and flush it out without making the rims more narrow.

I dig that blue. Looks good, I think it needs the correction plates for the rear though.
