I gotta admit, I'm half curious what it would look like Stanced. But I don't really think it would come out that well

saturnstance

haha actually there are two companies who make decent coilovers for saturns, and a wide selection of springs.
some examples:

Something along this line would look good... for a short-term investment i.e. before you go [possibly] bigger & better :eyebrows

Ew.

None of the cars you posted are low though

saturnstance
09-22-2009, 02:21 PM
those are just some that are lowered, i dont have any pictures of ones that the "stance" is perfect. but it was just some examples thats all

saturnstance
09-22-2009, 02:23 PM
oh and for saturns, low isn't low like most people haha. most guys are using springs that just have a 1.5" inc drop, then some are using coilovers, and othersare using springs that have a 2.5" inch drop. so it all depends.

Saturns kick ass. My friend had one of those for a daily for a few months, beat the living shit out of it, hella road trips, etc...and it never broke. Plus all the doors and stuff are plastic so you never have to worry about door dings. One of the best designed American cars of the 90s imo.

The E21 was my first car. Took me 10 years to get it to where it is. Patience is a virtue.

saturnstance
09-23-2009, 06:58 PM
patience is what i have haha. i ordered lowering springs that are being made for the last time ever for saturns. that was 3 months ago. getting them in a week or two. 2 inch drop will be nice. new wheels..then im done modding it.haha

saturnstance
09-24-2009, 05:33 PM
since you guys seem to have a keen eye for wheels..im looking for something decent that will make the car look decent, the DRAGs are gone..i dont wanna go with replicas or knock offs..any ideas please throw'em my way.

oh preferably 15" and bolt pattern is 4x100

thanks!

opel is a dutch car manufacturer, saturn is a gm us company so they are a little different

saturnstance

a little different yes, but that is the astra over here i believe.

09-25-2009, 09:26 AM
Welcome. All of the cars you posted have hella sunken wheel fitment. Also, get coilovers, not springs.

Dr.AK
09-25-2009, 10:52 AM
Welcome, dude.

I'm not really a fan of that car you have there, but I wish you all the best luck with it.

opel is a dutch car manufacturer, saturn is a gm us company so they are a little different

You fail.

Opel is a German manufacturer. Saturn currently sells a few rebadged Opels, the one pictured above is exactly the same as an Opel Astra. In the past, Saturn has produced many cars that share their technical platforms with Opels. Opel used to be a part of GM, but it is currently being sold.

i would go with coilovers but there $1,000+. for $250 i can have a nice 2" drop and be happy. then just save save save for what i want. haha (Audi a4 or BMW of some sort)

That's an excellent plan.

i have to agree haha. idk, though, i think a BMW will be more feasible than an Audi haha..or an older merc:eyebrows

B Rod
09-25-2009, 11:34 PM
Any of those three would be cool.

saturnstance
09-25-2009, 11:39 PM
i agree. im sure i could find a merc or BMW for a reasonable price eventually when im ready to pick one up?

i agree. im sure i could find a merc or BMW for a reasonable price eventually when im ready to pick one up?

Honestly, for the almost 2k for coils and ronal turbos, that could get you a perfectly good e30 or e36, as well as e28s (especially less desirable ones)

saturnstance
09-27-2009, 11:24 AM
yeah, whatever i decide i know im gonna go low. haha

saturnstance
09-27-2009, 08:11 PM
i need some help..im gonna be droppin the car about 2 inches. the rear tires, because the car is FWD, sits in too far and i wanna bring it out, the stock wheels which ill be keeping on, are 15x6. and the new tires ill be buying are 225/50R15. the stock offset is +50mm, i was what size spacers will bring the rear out to a respectable distance

Zack01GC
09-28-2009, 06:48 PM
You can get spacers anywhere from 5mm to 30mm (usually) and some go in standard size well over an inch. It's all where you want them to be.

Tuck&Poke
09-28-2009, 08:01 PM
just measure how far out to go with a tape measurer

saturnstance
09-28-2009, 08:34 PM
ok, im only goin about 2 inches lower, should that effect how i measure?

saturnstance
09-28-2009, 10:38 PM
so, in my search for wheels, i came across koning remembers, replicas of BBS'. they look nice. but, i know there replicas. so i may go with them, **** if you want but $500 compared to $1000 plus speaks to me. haha

Chase
09-28-2009, 11:38 PM
Its always worth it to buy the wheels that you want rather than a wheel that will due. Wheels i think are the most important part besides coils to get the stance or look that you want. I dont think the Konigs will do well.

I know its "just a saturn", but hell why not be a pioneer and make your saturn stance better than any other? Show us what you can do with what you got. Thats my motto.

Save up and get the wheels that will do it justice. If you need spacers then do that too. I just **** to see you get bashed on the type of car your rollin.

If you get replica wheels, why not get some Rotas with a low offset. still cheap, but you have a better chance at getting the stance right.

Check it http://jlbmotorsports.com/rims/rota-list.html Check out the rota D2's in 17x8.5 You will really improve stance with these even though they are reps. I think they would work much better than the Konigs.

Anyway, thats just my 2 cents

Chase

OR
http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/

Order a set of these in any size and offest that you want. These would work the best. And you cant beat the price. Even cheaper than rotas and they arent knock offs

Get some 16x9's with et30

would look sick

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 08:41 AM
i get your point. and now that i think about it. your right. with diamond racing, what wheels? im not exactly sure which ones?

Chase
09-29-2009, 09:29 AM
http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/drwcustom.html

you have some choices, i think the only ones they offer in the 4x100 are the D shaped holes. I think they would look great with some concave to them.

saturnstance

i like the steelies..i'd like maybe 15x7 or 16x7. are they super heavy?

B Rod
09-29-2009, 10:43 AM
Trust me. You want to definitely go wider than 7".

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 10:45 AM
15x8? haha

and these i looked it up are 4 pounds less than my stock ones per wheel, so its not bad i guess

B Rod
09-29-2009, 10:48 AM
Not bad at all for a steel wheel.

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 10:49 AM
yeah thats what i thought.

SeanDub
09-29-2009, 11:11 AM
So wait, you wanna stretch and poke?

With 2" drop springs. Oh jesus...

My cars dropped like 6 or 7 inches, and M3's sit lower naturally than a Saturn...

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 11:15 AM
not necessarily stretch and poke, but, i want it to look half decent if that makes any sense. oh and naturally i know the M3's sit lower, my car is like 4x4 status haha.

my main goal is to have a decent stance with the 2inch drop and wheels.

SeanDub
09-29-2009, 11:19 AM
Thats not an achievable goal. 2" will not give you any kind of "stance".

It will give you an insignificant drop. Do what you're gonna do, I'm just givin you the truth.

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 11:21 AM
i know your givin me the truth and i appreciate that, i also realize that 2 inches isn't significant enough. just kinda hoping haha

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 11:47 AM
my main goal is to atleast make it look better and more presentable than it is.

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 03:15 PM
i really like the diamond racing steelies. if i decide to do that, probably 15x8. i think they'd look pretty bad ass.

ECKS///M3
09-29-2009, 03:42 PM
It would be cool if you stuck with this and made it something different. If It's not the car you really want though, you're heart won't be in it to finish it.

If you go with the 15x8 you should at least go down to a 205 or 195 tyre to acheive a very slight stretch. Personally with a 8j rim i would be looking at a 195/45 at the minimum. Probably still need some spacers on the rear too, just to help make the rear wheels look slightly wider than the front.

saturnstance
09-29-2009, 04:36 PM
i want to make it different. thats my goal. parts are relatively cheap for saturns. i eventually want to swap the auto for a 5 speed, different front bumper from another generation to eliminate the fogs i have on their to ones from the factory, replace the rear drums to discs, theres a lot of subtle things like that that can all be done for under $1k.

saturnstance
09-30-2009, 12:36 PM

bjh102
09-30-2009, 09:38 PM
i can see this going in the right direction. ok so heres what u gotta do. sack up and buy the coilovers. then once youget the ride height right figure out what size and offset wheel you want..... just my thoughts. 2 inches wont make a difference really in the caase. its not gonna look much better.

saturnstance
09-30-2009, 09:50 PM
yeah. well, the springs are going on regardless cuz there already on their way. so, ill just save for coilovers, i really like the idea of the diamond racing wheels.
i just wish i could get a photoshop for a rough idea
