This year 100% of the events procedes will be going to The American
Cancer Society!!!!
The 2nd annual 72oz Steak Challenge Fundraiser will be taking place in
downtown Tacoma at the Varsity Grill. Last year the event raised just
under $1100 for the United Way. This wouldn’t have been possible
without the all of the generous product donations for the raffle from
last year’s sponsors. This year 100% of the proceeds will be going to
the American Cancer Society. The money raised will go towards the
research for finding a cure for cancer.
The 72oz steak challenge is where an individual or in last year’s case
six not only compete against each other, but also against the 60
minute time limit to clear their plate of a massive made to order 72oz
steak, steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, and a dinner roll. The top
three will receive trophies for their jobs well done and more
importantly for each plate cleared the cost of the meal will be then
donated towards the fundraiser.
We have a personal stake in this year’s event. Recently, one of our
board members father was diagnosed with cancer. So not only do we want
to help him, but also the many others diagnosed with the several
different types of cancer. Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of
abnormal cells in the body and ultimately everyone who is diagnosed
with cancer is affected differently by these symptoms.
This years event has drawn the attention of many local businesses who
have donated several raffle items to help use raise money for this
years charity. Here is a portion of the local business: Achtuning, The
Varsity Grill, Fine Tuning, Meister Gauge faces, Robert Larson
Volkswagen, Unorthodox Customs, Tacoma Speedometer, Ultra Web Hosting,
Speed Factory, Day and Night Rebuild and WaterWerks.
This year we will be announcing out raffle items a little differently
if you are interested in findoing what they are please check out and

If you are interested there are several ways you can help us reach
this year’s goal of $2200. Those are by way of purchasing raffle
tickets making a cash/check donation the night of the event and if you
are a business owner you can donate a gift certificate or product
that we can raffle off, and remember your donations are all tax
deductible. Our goal this year is to raise $2200 which would double
the amount of money raised at last year’s event. Some examples of
last year’s donations include: powder coating, custom gauge faces,
product certificates, professional photo shoots, a theater rental,
performance parts for vehicles and vehicle care products.
Arrangements can be made if you are wanting to make a donation but
will be un-able to attented the event please let us know so we can
accomodate you!!!!
It all comes down to one simple question- Will you support this event
to help find a cure for cancer?
Please PM me if you have any questions.....
