which you can pretty much browse through import monster, but import monster have heigher fees and slower service.

I use google translate to translate all the Jap pages and use Jesse Streeter to buy stuff from YJ.

I heard of 9.5 + 20-25 in the rear would be perfectly hellaflush. Front 8.5 +35. but I hear some people attempting +15 before with a lot of rubbing to the point where it hits the bolt holding the bumper in place and shredding away the side walls of the tyres. Not for me IMO since I daily this car.

I don't work directly for crown, I work for EPM+C who do a lot of the electrical contracts/maintenance within the casino. I do a fair bit of work on the gaming floor. I have my gaming license too so I can do work in and around the tables etc.

Holly crap Vic roads pulled over about 4 cars and a truck on westall rd. Prob for a random rwc check. I've even heard they call random cars to check rwc. A shop down the road told us he got a warning and Vic roads checked EVERYTHING! Even the slightest split in bushes. Think they are going abit too far this time.

I found a shiny letter from Williamstown police station saying that I was spotted driving on 'x' road and 'x' time by 'x' police officer and was scene to be in an 'un-roadworthy' state. I must now report to Williamstown police station this sat at 11:45 am for a full inspection :(.................

I called him up to re-schedule, because it is the same day as 'parklife' and he said it can't be re-scheduled because they have 'vicroads' and EPA representatives booked for the whole day. He said they are starting checking cars at 9am that morning. I asked how many cars and he said he couldn't tell me exact numbers but there are a few.

I am seriously considering just canceling my rego and keeping my car for a while as a track only/permit only driver for a few months. I could change it all back to stock no worries in a few days except for the engine number which doesn't match my rego sticker. (no engineers) no matter how stock the car will be, if they check the engine number (which i assume they will def do) i am screwed...............

The engine number you can say a mechanic changed the engine, heres the new number, apparently its an import engine... as long as you have a recipt, they should change it no worries...

I think thats the point man. The policeman already told me on the phone that there will be VICROADS going over cars and EPA. If I don't go, they are going to cancel my rego anyway according to the letter. so its either go there and get defected and not be able to pass it. therefor rego gets canned or cancel rego myself :/

being a B-series motor, couldn't you have just made an appointment at vicroads to show them the new engine after you did the swap? then they would have changed it over to your rego and it would have been peachy. I didn't think you'd need an engineers certificate for that motor?

i think the rule is, if you go up a 10% in displacement over stock then you need an engineers cert. I went from 1.6ltr to a 1.8ltr and took it in, said my mechanic did it, showed them receipts and they said that it is over the 10% displacement rule and that I need an engineers cert for them to pass it and change my rego.

10% of 1.6 is .16 so technically i could of gone from 1.6ltr to a 1.76ltr without a cert.

Seeing as though now i have a 2.0ltr vtec engine now, then it is well over the %displacement rule and therefor i would 100% need a cert to pass it. I have heard stories of people getting away with similar swaps but unfortunately not me.

I don't want to throw in the towel. I just don't have any other option apart from swapping out the engine back to a 1.6ltr befor Saturday to make it pass. Either way I will still keep it for a while for track duties.

I am not too pissed about it to be honest, was always gonna happen eventually, just a massive pain in the ass :( Also feel completely robbed just coppin a shit letter in the mail... Least they could do was pull me over.

if you can take it all back to stock with the 1.6 before saturday without too much hassle, I'd just do that, least you'll keep your rego without getting fines n shit. Then when you put it back together you can re-do things nicer/neater as you go (like a wire-tuck) and take the steps to get it engineered. Or just go to all the different vicroads until you get a slacker that passes it! lol

thing is I don't have a b16a readily available and I don't think i could do it myself in under 4 days. Another thing though, even if i do manage to get it all back stock with the engine swapped back to a 1.6ltr which i need ECU and complete engine for (intake manifold, headers, loom etc) I would also have to go to Honda and get my airbag system re-mapped (SRS light is consistently on due to Nardi wheel) apparently you need to go to Honda for them to reset it or some shit to make the light go off. No doubt i would have to re-weld up the holes in my floor for the harness bolts etc as well.

Then once passed, i would no doubt put it all back again and be back in the same boat i am in at the moment.

It has been good, had the car for 7 years and have been driving daily in this form for about 2 years now so its had a good run. Think its time to move on to bigger and better things. at least with my daily drive. My civic will still stick around for a bit for track duty :)

thing is i was about to buy a daily, but then that would not of made a difference anyway, i got spotted leaving a honda meet on a sunny sunday arvo so having a daily still would not have stopped me getting 'seen' by the annoying police man.

If I cancel my rego myself then i won't have to worry about going to the police station for them to go over the car and I won't have to put up with their rubbish talk and time wasting..... at least i assume i won't have to see them. if the rego is canceled befor it i can't see why they would want to see it....

Have you got a recipt for the motor though dude? If you do you can just say its been at the mechanics cause the motor was on its way out so they put a new one in.... If you have the recipt, and they pick on it, just ask them what you have to do to register the new engine number.. remember, if you act stupid, then they will think you are stupid... and if your lucky, they will sympathise with your stupidity.. Maybe even help you fix it!

I am throwing in the towel and canceling rego on my car tomorrow. I called up the police and told them i will be canceling befor sat so therefor I don't need to come down for the day.

I have done a bit more research and asked a few more people who have dealt with the williamstown police, that have had exactly the same thing happen (apparently these roadworthy letters/ inspection days happen a fair bit in Williamstown....) and apparently they are ruthless, if you rock up in a stock car, they will find a way to have it defected.

My mate with the EG actually has a defect sticker already and then he received the same letter, told them that and they said that he has to tow it there for inspection again and tow it home............. seriously what the hell is the point of that...........

He is going to cancel his rego too due to engine swap, just like me :( his EG is awesome too. Really disappointing both our cars will be off the road because of this. Especially seeing as though i just got it looking exactly how i liked.

Also it wasn't autosalon, the letter states that i was seen driving on Melbourne road in williamstown. I will never drive through williamstown again with a modded car, thats for sure!!

If you're talking about putting them in an EG.. Ialready looked into that for my EG, pretty straight forward. Fronts bolt in, Rears you just need to cut down the bush on rear lca's, easy.

They spotted me when i'm on the way home on point cook rd which is really close to my house. Technically, williamstown is hobson bay council where point cook is wyndham city council. I wonder what they're doing there. I often go to williamstown but i never get this problem. Maybe because my car is white with white wheels. Just one question, if you cancel your registration, what happened if you re-register the car again? Will they inspect the car again?

Took the car in as is... Gave them a list of things I knew it needed (eg. stockies, wiper arms, park lights, oil leaks fixed, windscreen etc.) and they only added 2 things to that list!!
