Here is another project that we have going at work (JMI Motoring). Since I see how you guys are enjoying the two other project threads, I figured I would throw this one up too. This B6 S4 came to the shop in pretty poor shape. Someone had vandalized the car pretty badly. The objective of this conversion was to keep it as OE looking as possible and here is a list of parts that have been used.

B7 rs4 Front Bumper
B7 rs4 Radiator Support
B7 rs4 Headlights
B7 rs4 Hood
B7 rs4 front fenders
B7 rs4 front and rear doors
B7 rs4 sideskirts
B7 rs4 door blades
B7 rs4 door moldings
B7 rs4 rear quarters
B7 rs4 rear inner wheel housings
B7 rs4 rear quarter glass
B7 rs4 trunk
B7 rs4 tailights
B7 rs4 rear bumper

There are a ton other misc B7 rs4 mounting brackets, tabs, clips, wheel liners and plastics and misc moldings around the windows and everthing too. We are getting very close to getting this car done. The car is painted and we have gotten about 75% of the final assembly done. Have a few parts we are waiting on and then I can finish putting the rest of the car back together and get this car done. Enjoy

(sorry I am using the owners pictures I am to lazy to upload all of mine lol)

Wow, good work, and I kind of dig the color.

Why all the money into this though rather than him just buying a B7 and parting the B6 out?

haha that's true...to be honest I like the looks of the B6 better, but the widebody is gonna be nuts. I've been following this build over in Achtuning's thread on Vortex...looks good.

The work done looks great!

However I feel it was kind of a waste of money.

I dig the B6 a little more, think you should've just gone custom widebody. But this is gonna look nuts too..!

I def appreciate the work thats going into the car, but the idea of driving a car that LOOKS like an RS4, but doesn't perform like an RS4......to me thats just like trying to make a 2.5RS Impreza look like an STI.......or putting Type-R lip kits, rear spoiler, headlights, etc etc on a SOHC DX Civic. Kind've a waste. But to each their own I suppose.

I am a huge fan of the b6 as well and would have stuck with a b6 rs4 conversion with out any of the rs4 badging...I do not think the owner will be putting any of the rs4 badges. Thanks for all the compliments guys as soon as we get more parts in I can update the thread with new pictures :)

that has to have cost a retarded amount of money, i would have just traded the car in on a used rs4 and put the money for those parts as a down payment but thats just my $.02, nice color and great work man

I can't even imagine how much new OEM RS4 panels would have cost. Holy hell. Looks top notch work though

you guys have to understand even with doing the conversion for this customer it came out alot cheaper than going and buying an rs4. alot of the conversion was paid for by insurance because nearly every panel on the car was vandalized, when it came to us and the customer put up his own money to cover what the insurance didnt cover.

Im not a fan of making a car look like something it's not, but the work on this car absolutely incredible!

I like it apart from the color i thinking black would have been cool.
is he changing the wheels?

Flavourless
09-09-2009, 08:52 PM
yah not sure what wheels are going on the car. it is also getting stasis brakes...

I don't understand why people keep saying they don't understand making into something that its not...I guess the title is sort of confusing or misleading but we are using all oem panels. why not use oem panels if you have access to them to make a widebody. fit on them is near perfect. He isn't going to be running any rs4 badges or anything like that.

i can understand the whole b6 to b7 thing as i am not a huge fan of that either but still everything is all oem which is a huge cool factor imho.

anyways nothing has really changed in the last week we have had so much going on at the shop and still waiting on more parts to show up so we can finish.
