M50 Weekend warriors

Well first off i would like to thank Erik, Ed, Phil, Zach, Chris Zip, Justin (friend from Ma), The Illusive Motor Swap Fairy, andmy son Chris for all their help this weekend as there was no way this was going to happened in one weekend with out the help of these great people!

The donor car was a totaled out 92 325is with 91k, took the motor, tranny, and drive shaft from her. Using a 2.93 LSD...and now a manual...;D. Not much really else to say so i'll let the pics to the talking.

Today i'm putting the drive shaft in and bleeding the brakes and she be on the ground. Taking her to a local exhaust shop hopefully today and having a custom 2.5" exhaust ran with a walker high flow cat and borla buffler. I'll post a video clip of that after it's finished as well.

Looks like nice open place to work. How much and where'd you find that motor , tranny, driveshaft, pedals etc.? My auto 85 325e's motor is starting to act up at 250k+ so i'm thinking about doing this swap.

yes its an M50B25....the only M50 that was offered in the states...he has the Non-vanos version there was also a vanos version which came out in 93 vanos is just BMWs variable valve timing system

Ok, didn't realize that the 25 was America only. Good to know. I figured out what VANOS was as well, which is cool that they have that. I'd love to start an e30 project, and upon doing further research, figured that an S50 will fit as well.

That would be ill. Slammed e30 with nice wheels and an S50 :devillook
