i know they can go low enough to need a frame notch but how long would they last spun all the way down, and the ride quality.

The ride is absolute shit all the way down, and they probably won't last long either.

well i cant afford koni gc . is there something in-between? i want to go very low and still have an "ok" ride.

Look into a set of D2's or K-Sports. Not the best coilovers out there, but definitely a step above Racelands and will put you plenty low. My roomate has D2's on his STI and likes them alot, not to mention they did a great job of slamming it.
