Henry Swasey took time out of his busy schedule of going to the gym and hanging out with his girlfriend to make this video! Unfortunately not enough time to post it on here, so here i am posting it for him!
ENjoy!
Smoky Nagata, owner of Top Secret Japan, world renowned tuner, and infamous speed freak, is coming to Houston to tune 20 lucky Nissans! That’s right, from the other side of the world, John from Planet-Zero is bringing him to Houston a few days before Import Reactor Drift to the delight of local enthusiasts.

Salutations!
You may know me as one of the guys that write for a local Texas blog called MaydayGarage. My name is David, and I’m not only the president of the 786 FanBoi fan club, i’m also a client! You see, the cool cats at 786 have been working on my car for the last few years, and it’s been a real pleasure to see this group of people expand, and get bigger and better! I’m also proud to say that they are some of my closest friends, and when I’m not working or sleeping, I try to hang out with these handsome fellas when I get the chance!
One thing that has been quite a ritual, is attending drift events with 786. It typically starts with a short conversation with Ameen or Amir, the owners of 786, about what time to meet up on that (typically) sunday morning. “Yeah man, be there at 7am!” Of course, when you take account that the night before EVERY drift event, the drivers of the event get together and get plastered. So when Ameen tells me “7am”, I usually take that as “8am”. So, like clockwork, I show up at around 8am to a closed gate at the shop.
After about 9:30 or so, everyone helps load the drift cars, tires, and aero and we head off. First pit stop: gas, energy drinks, and in this case, hot dogs. Yes. Hot dogs at 9:30 in the morning.
Everyone joins in the festivities!
After a quick check to make absolutely sure we have everything, it’s off to about an hour to an hour and a half drive to LaMarque, TX where Gulf Greyhound Park is our final destination. I get the opportunity to ride with the famous Gary Bonner of SpeedHunters fame!
So a wee bit later, we show up remarkably early (for Ameen & co.) and it’s this time where Ameen puts on his game face and gets to work.
Even Alex gets in on the action with his KA24DE powered, turbocharged S13 240sx.
So what about everyone else? While these two hit the asphalt, everyone else goes around and mingles with old friends and meet new ones.
After a few hours of snapping photos and talking to some friends, our boy Michael aka “CutiePie” decides to finally wake up after a hard night of boozing it up and shows up to take some pictures for the 786 blog as well.
Another interesting thing to see is what kind of reactions Gary’s SC400 gets as it just sits there in the pits. Mostly compliments on the car from what I can tell, but also there were a lot of people that would stand and stare at the car in a confused state. Could be good, could be bad, but as Gary says, “if they’re not hating on you, you’re not doing it right”
As we stayed into the night and helped pick up trash and whatnot (actually, I was asleep in the SC), the ritual of eating at Ryan’s Steakhouse is always in everyone’s mind near the end of the day. After chatting it up with everyone over mediocre steaks, it’s time to head off back to the 786 shop to dump off the car and head home where our beds await our aching bodies.
If you want complete coverage of this event (I took over 500+ pix!!), head on over to our site, www.MaydayGarage.com !

The great thing about Houston is that the events start early. While everyone else in the country was snowed in, Houston was starting up the drift season with Non Stop Tuning’s 5 Year Anniversary Drift & Show! It was a bit chilly out, but I never miss an opportunity to get out and snap some photos. Its always good to see friends, especially the guys at 786 Motoring! Coolest guys in Texas, believe me!
The attendance was phenomenal – I saw plenty of cars from Dallas and San Antonio. John P and Mayday Garage were out getting coverage, TunerLifeStyleTV was out shooting video, and a live DJ was out cranking out tunes all day. The show was great, but the drifting was unreal! Talk about competition! All in all, the day was a blast – big thanks to Non Stop Tuning and Fabricated Motorsports for putting everything together and hosting such a great event.

Thats all, folks! For more coverage, check out MaydayGarage.com as well! Support your local drift scene!
Here are some snapshots from the holiday break. A couple of 786 Motoring’s finest S14’s hanging out in Houston on a slow night.
So we saw this spot early in the day right, I told Nacho (the driver) that we had to make a video…NOW. Otherwise we probably wouldn’t have had another chance.
Nacho confidently agreed, so we drove 1hr to get my cam, got back, looked over both shoulders, and off we went.
The polished concrete made for low speeds (and no smoke) and the poles added an extra amount of danger, excuse me…stupidity to the situation. It was storming like hell outside, all the while Nacho was on fire inside…pun intended.
The rain and thunder soon stopped, prompting us to leave since Johnny Law was close and we definitely would’ve been popped. We were at this spot for a total of 30 minutes, and luckily we had just enough footage to make a lil’ somethin’.
Enjoy!
After days of fiddling with this and that, I managed to get my computer back online. My name is Michael, but it seems my “Cutiepie” nickname precedes me wherever I go. This is the first post of many, hopefully. Get ready for some behind the scenes snapshots of the Houston drift scene via 786 Motoring in the months to come. Thanks to everyone from Stanceworks for giving us an outlet to release this bottled up media onto the world. Don’t forget to comment on what you like and want to see, because we’d love to show you the big things Houston has to offer in 2010. Happy Holidays!

It was 2am. We were all bored, cold, and inebriated. The fact that it was pouring outside didn’t make things any better. I made the best of our situation and decided to grab a couple shots of 786′/Ameen’s 2JZ’d MX83.
Since this is my first post, no better time than to say what’s up. So..what’s up
